When I was a little girl my mom called me birdie because she said I ate like a bird. That’s where my nickname “birdie” came from. Now when I write articles for clients, create cards or play my violin, I think of myself as just a birdie playing with words or paper or musical notes. It’s all for mischief, adventure and creativity. To live a life with intentionality and purpose.

Professional Adventures

Each monthly issue is an adventure developing, assigning and project managing articles. I get the opportunity to work with a team of freelance writers and photographers to produce our editorial content. I interview local businesses and write 1-2 articles per each monthly issue highlighting their passions. I also have experience creating social content when needed.

Thrive Church (Lone Tree, CO) Executive Assistant & Content Writer
January 10, 2017 to April 2023

This was a unique experience being part of Thrive Church in their beginning years. I was positioned at the right hand of planning, communicating and coordinating the efforts of the staff. I wrote content for the church in all forms from website landing pages to mailers and messaging through email, text, social captions and newsletters. I worked closely with the creative team on all projects to ensure full execution of marking plans and campaigns. It was our strategic communications that kept the church informed and on the same page through the years of the pandemic. During this time the church not only grew but funded the purchase of their first building; a $4.2 million initiative.

NHiM Apparel (Lone Tree, CO) | Store Manager
August 2015 to January 2017

Thrilling to say the least, when Matt and Diane, the founders, asked me to be their first store manager, I thought I was dreaming. I helped write their first employee handbooks and training documents. I was entrusted with writing product descriptions for their online store. We worked together to create store systems, daily operations and merchandising displays.

June 2010 to August 2015

Starting out in the warehouse at first pulling maps, I was soon given the opportunity to develop and monitor social media profiles for the USGS store. I contributed web content for store.usgs.gov/pass. As a technical writer I wrote/edited over 200 technical training documents for office/warehouse procedures. I became a member of the OEI Communications Strategic Team where we planned and prepared different forms of internal and external communications.
